Introducing a New Niche Market Product
To be honest – this looks like a newer niche market with most applications being launched in the last five years. There are limited reviews on these applications and a variety of ways that the apps function. The most successful-looking direct competitor, BarkHappy, is doing a pretty solid job of keeping the main intent of the app in mind and then pushing beyond; ie onboarding info about yourself and dog, matching up dogs in the neighborhood, confirming potential, dog friendly meetup locations for playdates. While it is important to find dogs locally- it is just as important if not more to identify if the dog or person is going to be a good fit prior to spending time and energy setting up the play date.
